i've never had a personal website before. feels pretty good, to be honest. i think i'll keep it. 

if you're reading this, you might be interested in periodic updates on my musical journey (let's pretend i found a less cheesey way to phrase that). from announcements, to new releases, to photos or videos from my live performances, to eventual merch, this website is where i'll dump it all for your viewing pleasure. there's even a mailing list you can sign up for so you know you're always in the loop.

and now onto my first announcement: a new project with new music coming soon omg!

i will now by publishing music under the name derling. 

while this is largely a solo project, i will be bringing in some new friends i've made (probably a few old ones as well) to complete the album. i wanted a name that would reflect and acknowledge that contribution because i couldn't do this entirely on my own.

over the course of the past year, i have been writing a lot and i'm ready to start sorting through this new material and deciding what of it is worth completing and releasing.

now, here we are in the production phase and i can't wait to share these songs with you as they are completed. it's going to be an exciting year. thanks for being here for it.
